Communication built around how each person receives it.
DeafBlind consumers use a range of methods, and the right approach depends entirely on the individual. ULS coordinates tactile, close-vision, and tracking interpreting with interpreters trained in these specialties.

Is DeafBlind interpreting right for this?
Tactile interpreting, close-vision interpreting, and pro-tactile methods each require specific training and physical technique. So does conveying visual and environmental information that a sighted, hearing participant absorbs automatically. This is specialized work and the pool of qualified interpreters is smaller.
Because of that, DeafBlind requests benefit most from advance notice. Tell us the consumer's preferred method when you request and we will match accordingly, or tell you honestly if the timeline is not workable.
